Share market update: Private Bank shares decline; YES Bank slumps over 5%

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.
NEW DELHI: Shares of Private banks were trading with losses in Monday's afternoon session.

Shares of YES Bank (down 5.24 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 3.65 per cent), Axis Bank (down 2.06 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 1.90 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.

IDFC First Bank (down 1.89 per cent), Federal Bank (down 1.55 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.80 per cent) and HDFC Bank (down 0.60 per cent) too were trading with losses.

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 1.68 per cent down at 16,940.70 around 02:25 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 119.15 points at 11,633.65 while the BSE Sensex was down 345.09 points at 38,795.19.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, DLF, SAIL, SBI, Bank of Baroda, Bharti Airtel and Indiabulls Housing Finance were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
